Cycling for Children's Cancer

Ghent-Cologne, 10-13 May 2014

With the “Cycling for Children’s Cancer” initiative, the researchers of the Center for Medical Genetics and the department of Children’s Oncology of the University Hospital Ghent  would like to highlight the search for better and more successful therapies for neuroblastoma. The occasion for this initiative is the 2-yearly international meeting Advances in Neuroblastoma Research (ANR), organized in Cologne in May 2014. More than 500 researchers, doctors and patient organizations worldwide will meet to exchange the latest evolution/ideas in neuroblastoma research.

This year, the neuroblastoma researchers of Ghent will not go by plane but they will cycle in 3 days to Cologne.

As a close partner of the team, FFM invites you to support this initiative by sponsoring the 300km bike ride !

Just like research, cycling is a team sport, where the members of the team lift each other to a higher level, where you suffer but also where you put a lot of satisfaction when finally reaching the finish…
The team does not only want to highlight neuroblastoma and the search for better therapies, but also wants to support the young neuroblastoma patients and their parents. The latter need to know that they can count on them, and that we will continue their efforts, with undiminished dedication and enthusiasm. By sponsorship and some funny actions, the team hopes to raise additional money for research.
You can sponsor the initiative as a whole or individual cyclists.
All financial support will be used for further development of biomarkers for therapy stratification and/or targeted therapy, so that on the long-term neuroblastoma patients receive a better and adapted therapy … The right cure for every child!
