We were in Ghent at Knowledge for Growth to reveal the winners of our 2013 Valorization Awards.
Our 2013 Award Ceremony took place on Thursday May 30th at Knowledge for Growth (5:25 PM, ICC Ghent).
The awards, whose winners have been announced, are special. This year, our foundation had decided to support follow-on 'valorization projects" of existing laureates only.
As such, some of our laureates were rewarded in order to roll-out the validation process- where significant costs and numbers of samples are required - for their biomarker.
Find out who won the valorization grants !
This day was a great opportunity for us to explore new partnerships with academic research institutes, medical technology, biotech and pharma companies and therefore to continue building our "cancer biomarker community".
You have missed our talk at KFG ?
Thursday May 30, 2013 during the annual biotech convention ‘Knowledge for Growth’ professor Jo Vandesompele and dr. Els Vanheusden shared their insights and experience on how to go beyond innovative scientific research and how to work towards a clinical, medical solution. In their talk "Cancer biomarkers: surviving the journey from bench to bedside" both speakers presented the model efficiently used by the Fournier-Majoie Foundation to optimize the transition from biomarker discovery to biomarker clinical development.
